This
maple looks similar to Acer diabolicum family or Kiriha Kaede in Japan,
but it has more brilliant colors in Autumn. Although it is an outdoor tree, it
can be placed indoor if sufficient sunlight and air are provided. It has
five-lobed leaves with a thick texture. The leaves can be trained to small
compact size by the defoliation process. They do not need to be repotted for
another two years. Just control their growth but trimming the leaves.
Eventually the trunk will get thicker and the tray landscaping effect will be
more profound.
